Radiographic Testing (RT) / Low Rad / Safe Rad
Penetrating radiation is passed through a solid object, onto a film, resulting in an image of the object’s internal structure being deposited on the film. Discontinuities are detected by viewing shape and variation in density of the processed film.
Safe Rad RT: Small Area For Exposure Radiography.
Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
MPI detecting surface and slightly subsurface discontinuities in Ferromagnetic material. Active material available in wet black ink, fluorescent and dry powder.
Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI)
DPI used to locate surface-breaking defects in all non-porous materials. Penetrant material available in red dye ink and fluorescent.
Positive Material Identification Inspection (PMI)
PMI is the analysis of a metallic alloy to establish composition by reading the quantities by percentage of its constituent element.
Ultrasonic Testing (UTTM / UTFD / B-Scan)
A beam of ultrasonic energy is directed into the object to be tested and travels through the object with insignificant loss, except when it is intercepted and reflected by a discontinuity / back wall. Used to measure thickness, flaw detection and many other applications.
Time-of-flight Diffraction Ultrasonic Test (TOFD)
ToFD system consists of a pair of probes (transmitter & receiver) placed on opposite sides of a weld. In normal condition, receiver only pick-up lateral wave and back wall echo. Any discontinuity wave is shown between lateral wave and back wall echo. Result are recorded in un-rectified A-Scan & B-Scan view.
Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL)
MFL qualitatively can detect under-plate corrosion from the topside and suitable for inspection of exposed bare, painted or thinly coated carbon steel components. The amount of leakage flux is depending on depth, orientation, type and position of the defect. For quantitative depth and accurate sizing of the defect, ultrasonic thickness gauging can be applied after detection.
Vacuum Box Inspection
Bubble leak testing or vacuum box testing is an integral part of a tank inspection process as recommended by API and other international standards to establish the condition of a tank bottom plate weld or shell to bottom plate weld.
This technique are used whenever access for visual inspection are restricted. The articulately small diameter camera probe, focusable, handheld LCD and high resolution video recording provide data for visual observation.
This method are used to measure the hardness of the material. Mobile and very accurate, it has a large measuring range – from soft to extremely hard.
Continuity test is one of the non-destructive test method applied on protective coatings to detect unacceptable discontinuities such as pinholes and voids. The test involves checking of an electric circuit to see if current flows to complete the electrical circuit.
Phased Array UT (PAUT)
PAUT probe consists an array of ultrasonic elements which can be pulsed, steer and focused individually. UT beam is swept through the object being examined, and the data from multiple beams are put together to make a visual image showing encoded result in A-Scan, B-Scan, C-Scan, D-Scan and Sectorial Scan.
Eddy Current Inspection
ECT uses electromagnetic induction to detect flaws in conductive materials and can detect very small / fine cracks in or near the surface of the material. Suitable for thin material inspections. Divided into surface ECT and tube testing ECT.
